Washington SCD Tabulation

When I began to tally population numbers of So Called Dollars in 1995, I decided to include Washington pieces that also seemed to fit HK's criteria. For a guide I used Russell Rulau and George Fuld's "Medallic Portraits Of Washington 2nd Edition". It is an excellent book and is easily obtainable. The criteria that I used to decide whether or not a piece would be included was basically the same criteria that I state in my "Interpretation of HK Long Definition", except I also included holed pieces, thinking that maybe I might run across the same pieces unholed. I also included Douglas pieces of so called dollar size. The Baker/Douglas numbers included in my tally are only a small part of the total number of Washington pieces in Rulau/Fuld's book. In hindsight I wish I had kept a tally of more Baker listings than I did, especially those of so called dollar size that maybe did not fit HK's guidelines, but for those that I did tally, this information should be helpful.

The sales catalogs that I looked through were the exact same catalogs that I used for my so called dollar tabulation. (CLICK HERE for an explanation of so called dollar Tally). My tally includes all pieces broken down into grades as they were described. Also included are all unlisted pieces that I found, including unlisted varieties and mulings, and unlisted metals. Unlisted pieces are listed along with and just below the parent pieces, and are designated with asterisks. Douglas pieces are listed at the end. There are also 5 pieces listed at the end of the Baker listings where neither obverse nor reverse could be found anywhere in Rulau/Fuld.
