252) "Thomas Sayers, The Champion Of England" Unlisted in HK's first edition, HK10b in the second edition. In tiny lettering: "F. B. Smith & Hartman N. Y.". "The Great International Prize Fight Between Heenan & Say....". Probably rarer than it's Heenan counterpart. Very rare. Copper, 34mm.
252a) This is an interesting inclusion in the world of so called dollardom. It commemorates a tightrope crossing of Niagara Falls(on the U.S. border with Canada) by Charles Blondin September 1860. He crossed it many times, first crossing lt June 1859. He was born in France and was one of the all time world's greatest daredevils. Read about this guy!! Amazing!! The medal was probably made in England. White metal, Rare, 34.7mm
253) Commemorates a "Bicycle Tournament" and the City of Springfield. This piece appears to be very to extremely rare in bronze and gilt. Very scarce to rare in white metal and usually holed in white metal. Rulau Ma-Sp 2, Storer 1638, Gilt, 35.4mm.
254) "A Souvenir Of The Grand Winter Carnival Feb. 1887 / G.R. Fownes N.Y.", Rulau Vt-Bu 3, Weakly rare. Very rare in strict unc. I have only located it in white metal. White metal, 35mm.
255) " This Medal Is made Of Aluminum Produced By Natural Gas From Findlay Clay" / "12,000,000 Cubic Feet Daily" / "Karg Well" "Souvenir Of The Anniversary Of The Application Of Natural Gas To The Mechanical Arts Findlay, Ohio. June 8, 9, 10, 1887." This is a strange medal, as it is never found in aluminum. Rare. Brass, 34mmm.
256) From the Middleweight Championship of the World held in New Orleans(Crescent City) March 8th, 1893. Bob Fitzsimmons successfully defended his title by knocking out Jim Hall in the 4th round. Very to extremely rare. Aluminum, 37.2mm.
257) Commemorative (advertisement?) of a Shakespearean revival held at "Fords Grand Opera House" in Baltimore in 1894. Creston Clark was the nephew of the late Edwin Booth. Probably rare in white metal. Also exists in bronze, and probably a bit rarer in that metal. Rulau Bal 25, White metal, 37.9mm.
258) "Honorary Board Of Filipino Commissioners.....", "Seal Of Board Of Trade 1876". I guess maybe this commemorates some sort of trade meeting. Any ideas? Also exists in white metal. Very rare in either metal and found holed in both metals. Copper, 38.1mm.
259) This token was sold by John Krohn(Colonial Jack) for 10 cents each as he walked around the United States pushing his "Sphinx". There is an article about him and his journeys in the January 2008 edition of "The Numismatist". Very scarce to rare, but harder to find unholed. Aluminum, 38.1mm.
260) Rowing regattas along the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia have been an ongoing tradition for over 150 years. "57th Regatta Philadelphia June 18 1910", "Schuylkill Navy". This is the only one of these I have come across. Extremely rare. Gilt, 33.5mm.
261) "Souvenir" of the "Olympic Games 1932" in "Los Angeles, Cal." On the obverse: "U.S. Battle Fleet", Also found octagonal and probably equally rare as such. Very rare. Gilt Brass, 38.1mm.
261a) Undated souvenir of the "United States Navy Battle Fleet". Same obverse as above with a different reverse. Navy ships evidently were present at the 1932 Olympic sailing events that were held in the ocean off Los Angeles. Very rare? Gilt brass, 38.1mm
261b) Same obverse as HK667, in recognition of the artist who designed the medal, Daniel Chester French. He is best known for his seated sculpture of Lincoln at the Lincoln memorial. Rare to very rare and probably somewhat rarer than HK667. Bronze, 37.6mm
262) This athletic competition festival is still held today in Santa Barbara. "Semana Nautica Santa Barbara California" / "July 1 To 5, 1936". Probably Very rare. Copper(?) plated nickel, 38.2mm.
264) Unlisted in HK's first edition, but listed in the second edition of HK as HK506a. Issued by the American Commemorative society as was HK506. "Telephone Diamond Jubilee / Alexander Graham Bell 1847 - 1922" Probably rare to very rare. Bronze, 38.2mm.
265) In 1957 the Mayflower 2 (a full scale reproduction of the original) sailed across the Atlantic Ocean on a 55 day voyage. This piece and maybe another are the only ones I have come across. Very rare? Extremely rare? Bronze, 38.2mm.
266) Unlisted in HK's first edition, HK724a in the second edition. Same as HK724 but with a different obverse inscription. "In Commemoration Of Your Visit With The Mayor". In tiny lettering: "Mfg. By Harvey Aluminum". This piece appears to be rarer than HK724. Rare to Very rare. Gold anodized aluminum, 37.5mm.
267) This piece celebrates the anniversary of a trade association in the form of a banquet. "Souvenir Of XXXII Anniversary Banquet Silk Association Of America Feb. XI. MCMIV". Rarely seen. Very rare, maybe extremely rare. Silver, 38mm.
268) "Robert Fulton", from "Alfred S. Robinson's Historical Series No 2". Number 1 in this series is HK133. Rulau Ct-Ha 19, Can be found in white metal, copper, and brass. Rare in bronze. Maybe very rare in white metal and brass. Brass, 34.8mm(Rulau's description of 41mm is in error)
269) "Betsy Ross Monument Association Of The Patriotic Orders Of U S of A". Found in either bronze or white metal. I have never found one holed in either metal, but have found a bronze one with a clamped on loop. Very rare in both medals with the white metal piece possibly somewhat rarer. Bronze, 35.2mm.
270) Obverse the same as HK773 and HK774 but with a different reverse. In tiny lettering around below: "Robbins Co Attleboro". I have found this piece and HK773 to be of the same rarity, Weakly rare and somewhat rarer than HK774. Bronze, 35mm.
271) Unlisted in HK's first edition, HK866b in the second edition. A muling of the obverse of HK863 with the reverse of HK435. Dickeson 2 (Delorey). The "Confederation" side of this piece is also the same as the obverse HK442, the reverse of HK857, the obverse of HK866, the reverse of HK877, and the reverse of HK887. Rare, maybe very rare. Copper/Bronze, 38.5mm.
